Seminario de Apreciación de las Artes V

This course explores the relationship between music and the other arts in Western culture, as well as music’s gradual emergence as an independent art form. You will examine its abstract nature, learn fundamental concepts of music theory, and review key historical milestones, including musical notation, temperament, opera, the piano, and sound recording. Through representative examples, you will analyze music’s connections with the arts, religion, and leisure, while developing a critical understanding of its evolution and role in contemporary society.
